On the 29 September 2016, the Department of Employment will be conducting a Business Breakfast Forum at the Westland Hotel Conference facility on McDouall Stuart Avenue.
This event is supported by the Whyalla City Council, the Whyalla Chamber of Commerce and Regional Development Australia Whyalla and Eyre Peninsula Inc.
Guest speakers at this Forum will include Mr Steve Arndt from BHP Billiton and Mr Brett Triffett from Oz Minerals. Both speakers will give a short presentation of their respective companies’ future plans in the region.
Also in attendance will be Mr Ivan Neville, Manager of the Labour Market Research and Analysis Branch of the Department of Employment. Mr Neville will provide a statistical analysis of the region including the future of work and the labour force requirements.
The Department of Employment will provide practical information on the range of supports available to:
- find and recruit job ready individuals
- access Government funding to support your business and training needs
- build your workforce capability.
There will also be opportunities to network with other employers and to share information about your current workforce challenges and opportunities.
The forum will also be an avenue for local businesses to provide feedback and ideas to the Department of Employment.
The event is free and with a cooked and continental breakfast provided.
