To launch the 2015 awards, the Chamber will host a function on Thursday 23 July at the Alexander Motor Inn, commencing at 6-30pm.

Mr Hay said, this function will be an opportunity for business owners, managers and staff, to network and be presented with an overview of the individual award categories, criteria and their judging processes.
Prior to this event, we (the Chamber) are encouraging Business owners, managers and staff, to review the Award Categories, to see where they can contribute in terms of nominations for Trainee and Apprentice of the Year, Employer of the Year, Most Popular Retail Employee, Business Icon (Individual) and Whyalla Business Icon of the Year and New Business of the Year.
Mr Hay said, there are a lot of good businesses and business people in Whyalla, who contribute in many ways through their performance, service, community support and involvement to name a few and the Chamber’s Business Awards Dinner, is a way of recognizing them for either their personal and or business achievements.
Each year said Mr Hay, a guest speaker for the dinner is chosen, who can bring their experiences and story to share with our dinner guests and I am pleased to announce that this year’s guest is Mr. Anthony Kittel. Anthony started as a Cadet for BHP in Whyalla before completing his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, then staying on as a Project Engineer and now owns and operates his own successful business, REDARC. Anthony’s business REDARC was also the recipient of the 2014 Telstra Business of the Year.
Attendance at the Business Awards Dinner has grown over the last few years through increased award categories and it is a date in the business calendar that people look forward to.
Mr Hay said, businesses will soon be receiving communications to invite people to the 2015 Business Awards Dinner Launch, with registration for this event, through our front page of the Chamber website. Our Executive members look forward to discussing each award and potential nominations from our business community, which will be in addition to those nominations already being received through our website.
