Expressions of interest are sought from the Whyalla business community to participate in a regional management and leadership pilot program being offered in Whyalla by the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS).
The Whyalla Chamber of Commerce & Industry (WCCI) are seeking interest from 6 – 8 business managers and owner/managers from small and medium enterprises in Whyalla to participate in a regional leadership program. The program is part of a larger project being run by a team from the UTS Management School to build a targeted management and leadership development program for regional Australia.
Suitable participants will be managers/leaders with at least a few years of experience as managers/leaders – so they know how challenging it can be. Participants also must have an appetite to learn and an open mind.
The Regional High Performance Network pilot program will be made up of a 1 hour introductory foundation session, followed by 5 (approx. 90min) face to face or virtual sessions. These sessions will be held approx. monthly beginning late July/August 2015. In return for UTS facilitating the program, participants will be asked to provide feedback on delivery method and module content after each session as well as at the start and the end of the overall program.
The suggested program topics are:
- Mindful Leadership
- Thinking Entrepreneurially to Grow Your Business
- Strategic Blindspots
- Collaborating and Networking
- Instilling a Talent Mindset,
However if other key management and leadership development needs are identified it may lead to topic modifications.
